21^st Sunday in Ordinary Time

The Gospel today continues with Jesus teaching on the bread of life. This teaching wasn’t accepted by all who heard it. Some people failed to grasp or believe what He was saying. Belief in Jesus requires the invitation of the Father and acceptance by the believer.

Peter speaks for the other apostles when he responds to Jesus’ teaching on the bread of life. Peter professes that Jesus is truly the “Holy One of God”. Peter then says, “Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of everlasting life.” Our celebration also proclaims that we, like Peter, believe that Jesus is truly the Bread of Life.
