30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

In the Gospel today, Jesus speaks of the two great commandments; love the Lord our God with all your heart, soul, and strength; and to love our neighbor as yourself. Jesus unites these two commandments and proclaims that they form the foundation of religious faith. The love of God and the love of neighbor can’t be separated. Loving our neighbor is a visible sign of our love for God.

Our challenge is to ask ourselves, how are we living these two commandments? We should ask ourselves if we practice works of charity and mercy as a way of life.

May Jesus and His Eucharistic presence strengthen us to live the two great commandments.
