Scripture Reflection Fourth Sunday of Advent
“Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb,” (Lk 1:42). The gospel on the 4th Sunday of Advent tells of the Visitation; Mary going to the home of her cousin Elizabeth. Elizabeth is filled with great joy to be in the presence of Mary and her child. Elizabeth’s child, John, will herald the presence of Jesus. The Gospel closes with Elizabeth praising Mary for believing that God’s promise would be fulfilled. Mary was aware of God’s presence in her life. She was filled with great faith. We pray that we can also live as Mary did, aware of God’s presence and love in our lives.
