Scripture Reflection For 6th Sunday In Ordinary Time

In the Gospel today a leper approaches Jesus and begs him to heal him.  The leper would have heard about Jesus and the things he was doing.  The leper had faith that Jesus would be willing to help him.  Jesus was moved with pity for the leper and touched him.  Immediately the leper experienced the healing power of Jesus.  Jesus didn't want to bring attention to himself, so he tells the leper to follow the procedure for being judged clean.  However, the leper is so filled with gratitude that he is inspired to share the good news.  The leper went through a transformation.  He approached as a leper, but left as a disciple.  The love of Jesus transforms us too.
