In today's Gospel Jesus invites some disciples to follow Him.  He says that he will make them "fishers of men".  He has a plan for their lives that will steer them in a different direction.  They will have a special relationship with Jesus.  They will forever be changed by their relationship with Him.

Just as Jesus invited the disciples to follow Him, so also he invites us.  We are all a work in progress.  The Lord invites us to be holy, and to service.  This seems like a challenge.  We know how often we fall short of the invitation Jesus gives.  Lucky for us, inspite of our human frailties Jesus calls us to union with Him.
