All the Gospels show that the resurrection of Jesus wasn't easy for the apostles to grasp.  They aren't immediately sure what to make of these appearances.  The Gospel today tells us that some of the apostles were fishing and Jesus was on the shore.  They thought they were seeing a ghost.  However, the gospel shows Jesus eating with the apostles.  This is to emphasize that the resurrection isn't simply a spiritual phenomenon.  There was something the same about Jesus and at the same time something different.  Jesus now possessed a transformed, glorified body.  He is now present to his disciples in a different way.  He is present to the church in the form of mystery,
