In the Gospel today, Jesus heals Peters mother-in-law.  Jesus does much more than healing someone's physical condition.  He also gives them spiritual strength, and invites them to greater union with God.  In the healing of Peter's mother-in-law we see reaised up to new life through the power of Jesus.

Word about Jesus was spreading rapidly amonth the people.  Many people were seeking him out.  Jesus mission to proclaim the goodness and mercy of God.  Personal power or authority play no role in this mission.  It is about service to God, and God's people.
